Chubba Purdy Biography:-

In his first year at Nebraska, Chubba Purdy played in six games and started one. He completed 22 of 48 passes for 147 yards and ran 24 times for 73 yards and two touchdowns.

Purdy’s first game with the Huskers was against No. 6 Oklahoma, where he led NU on one of its two touchdown drives. Against the Sooners, Purdy completed 7 of 11 passes for 35 yards. He also ran five times for 29 yards and a touchdown of 8 yards. Against Indiana, he also led one drive. At Rutgers, Purdy tried to throw one pass and ran for two yards. Purdy played the whole second half against No. 17 Illinois, completing 3 of 8 passes for 15 yards. The next week, he started against Minnesota. He had 65 yards of total offense, scored a rushing touchdown, and helped Nebraska score 10 points in the first quarter. Purdy started for the second week in a row at No. 3 Michigan. He was Nebraska’s leading rusher and passer, even though he was hurt late in the first half and had to leave the game for the rest of the season. Against the Wolverines, Purdy completed six of twelve passes for 56 yards. He also ran five times for 39 yards.

Before Nebraska (Perry High School/Florida State),

After two years at Florida State, Purdy moved to Nebraska (2020-21). Purdy played in four games for the Seminoles, starting one of them.

As a true freshman in 2020, Purdy played in three games. During the season, he completed 27 of 53 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns. He also ran the ball 19 times for 57 yards. Purdy got the start against North Carolina State, making him just the fifth true freshman quarterback in Florida State’s history to do so. In his only game with the Seminoles, he threw for 235 yards and two touchdowns. During the 2021 season, Purdy took a redshirt. He played against UMass and completed 5 of 5 passes for 98 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also ran once for 5 yards.

Purdy was a four-star prospect at Perry High School in Arizona. In the 247Sports Composite rankings, he was ranked as the No. 6 dual-threat quarterback in the country. In his two years as Perry’s starter, Purdy led the team to 9,000 yards of total offense and 111 touchdowns. Purdy was the Arizona Offensive Player of the Year as a senior. He had a total of 4,423 yards of offense and scored 52 touchdowns. He passed for 3,425 yards and 36 touchdowns as a junior and ran for 1,152 yards and 23 touchdowns.

Personal Life

Chubba was born on July 30, 2001, to Shawn and Carrie Purdy. Child, youth, and family studies are his major. Brock, his older brother, was a quarterback at Iowa State from 2018 to 2021. He was named to the All-Big 12 team twice and set records for passing yards and total offense for the Cyclones. Shawn, Chubba’s dad, played baseball at the University of Miami and in the minor leagues.
