Elise Schaap was born on September 21, 1982 in Rotterdam, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands. She is an actress, known for Familie Kruys (2015), Bride Flight (2008) and Farewell to the Moon (2014).
Career:-
After high school she studied communication science at the University of Amsterdam and got a permanent role in the youth series Hotnews.nl. Schaap subsequently attended the Theater School and Kleinkunstacademie Amsterdam, where she graduated in 2009. In its third year, she was selected to play one of the leading roles in the Dutch film Bride Flight.
Shortly after graduating, she played the title roles with Lotte Verbeek and Andrea Osvárt in an Italian miniseries about Trio Lescano, Le ragazze dello swing, for which she received the Golden Nymph for best actress at the Monte Carlo TV festival in 2011. After that, roles followed. the silver screen in, among others, Sekjoeritie, Valentino and Farewell to the moon.
For her role in Farewell to the Moon, Schaap was nominated for a Golden Calf for best supporting actress in 2014 and received the prize for best actress at the film festival in Cluj in Romania.
On television, Schaap is a regular face of Het Klokhuis. She was also seen in the satirical series of the NTR Welcome to the Romans and Welcome to the Golden Age, the improvisation program De floor op, Koefnoen, the crime series Hart against Hard (Net5), Undercover (Netflix) and in the comedy series Familie Kruys. (as the Romanian Ruxandra).
In the theater, Schaap played in performances by, among others, Toneelgroep Amsterdam, the Rotheater, Orkater and DeLaMar theater productions. She received a musical award for best female lead in 2016 for her role in The Return of Hansel and Gretel.
In 2014 she played the role of Rachel Hazes in the musical He Believes in Mij. In addition to her work as an actress, Schaap can regularly be heard as a voice-over. In the 2015/2016 theater season she plays the role of ‘the crazy’ Edda in We Want More at Bos Theater Productions. Since December 2015, Elise and Bob Stoop have been presenting the satirical online talk show Nederland Gezellig, an initiative from satirical online news magazine De Speld.
Since 2016, Schaap can be seen in various roles in the parody program De TV Kantine, such as Sylvie Meis, Chantal Janzen, Estelle Cruijff, Lil ‘Kleine, Maan, Olcay Gulsen, Nikkie Plessen, Famke Louise, Britt Dekker and Davina Michelle.
In 2019 and 2020, Schaap was named best actress of the year at the Golden Televizier Ring Gala.
