After more than 43 years of covering sports for Action News 5, legendary sports director Jarvis Greer is retiring.
Jarvis’ final day at 1960 Union was Friday, after countless memories, laughs, and final scores.
He has covered the debuts of the Memphis Redbirds, Memphis Grizzlies, and even the Memphis Showboats for Action News 5.
The Mid-South has been saying their final goodbyes and paying tribute to a legendary career over the last few weeks.
Jarvo has been the sports director since 1991, after his mentor Jack Eaton retired.
Perhaps no one has ever represented Memphis better than Jarvo. He likes to say that he was born and raised in Memphis, and that “when I die, I’ll be Memphis dead.”
