High School Career

Russell, a 2016 Osseo High School graduate, was named a Ms. Minnesota Basketball finalist, a Gatorade Player of the Year finalist, and a Star Tribune First Team selection.

As a senior, she was named to the Associated Press All-State Second Team and was chosen to play in the Minnesota Girls Basketball All-Star Game.

As a senior, he was a McDonald’s All-American nominee in addition to earning American Family Insurance ALL-USA honors. Minnesota Girls Basketball was named to the First Team, as well as All-Conference and All-Metro teams.

Led the Northwest Suburban Conference in scoring both her junior and senior seasons, as well as steals as a senior.

Played a key role in Osseo’s 2014 season, which saw the Orioles reach the Section 5 semifinals. Russell was named to the All Northwest Suburban Conference Team after averaging 12.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.2 steals, and 2.7 assists per game.

As a freshman, he earned All-Conference honorable mention while playing for Kennedy High School in Bloomington, Minnesota.
