American football quarterback Quinn Ewers plays for the Texas Longhorns. Before moving to Texas in 2022 and starting for them, Ewers attended Ohio State University in 2021.
Ewers was born in San Antonio, Texas, on March 15, 2003. He was born and raised in Southlake, Texas, and went to Carroll Senior High School, where he played football and baseball in the past. He completed 291 of 402 passes for 3,998 yards, 45 touchdowns, and 3 interceptions as a sophomore. Texas 6A Division I quarterfinals before being upset by Duncanville by Ewers and Southlake Carroll. After missing six games due to injury, Ewers concluded his junior season with 2,442 yards and 28 touchdown passes in eight games for Carroll, which reached the 6A Division I Texas State Championship Game before falling to Westlake High School. He competed in the 2021 Elite 11 tournament after the season, but he only managed to finish sixth.
Ewers is regarded by a number of publications as the #1 overall recruit in the class of 2022 heading into his senior year. Ewers made his original commitment to the University of Texas in August 2020, where he would have been the first quarterback to obtain a perfect 1.000 247 Sports composite rating since fellow former campus prospect Vince Young. Later, in October, Ewers would renounce his commitment to the Longhorns before declaring in November 2020 that he will play for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
Ewers joined the club for preseason training camp in August 2021 after enrolling formally at Ohio State. On November 20, 2021, Ewers made his collegiate debut against the Michigan State Spartans, taking two snaps in the Buckeyes’ victory.
