As a child in England She had a secret shoe box filled with ‘old things’. Pieces of pottery, clay pipes, coins, tokens and trinkets whichShe discovered in her recently ploughed back-garden. These objects fascinated her because of the stories She felt they could tell, and soon they became my very own talismans. In her teens She began exploring the markets of London. In the 70’s Portobello Road was her playground, where She found the exotic, the inspirational, the bizarre.
Later, when she travelled to distant lands She was delighted to realize that just like her, people around the world had a quest for beauty and meaning, and She was enthralled with the symbolism found in jewellery everywhere.
She collected many objects as She travelled, and to support herself, She traded her way around the world; swapping, buying and selling, unwittingly gathering information along the way.
Eventually she landed in Australia. During the 80’s She made many trips between Australia and the UK, where She purchased hundreds of pieces of Antique Jewellery. She soon became one of the biggest wholesalers of Antique jewellery to the trade in Australia.
